Danish Money - Danish Kroner
Danish krone (kr) [Plural kroner] - Dansk krone [Danish] - International trading code DKK
The name krone means "Crown" in English
Denmark negotiated a special opt-out of the Maastricht Treaty allowing the country to keep the krone while most other members of the European Union (EU) adopted the euro in 1999.
Denmark's currency contains coins and banknotes
Danish coins: 25 and 50 ore 1, 2, 5, 10 and 20 kroner

Danish banknotes: 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000 kroner

Banknotes are issued by Danmarks Nationalbank, and Danmarks Nationalbank holds the copyright to the banknote design.

All Danish banknotes in the current series are the same height, with a difference in length of 10 mm between each denomination. The reason that they are all the same height is that it facilitates machine counting and sorting. At the same time, the variations in length make it possible for the visually impaired and the blind to distinguish between each denomination.

The krone is divided into 100 øre (Coins 25, 50 øre)
In 2006, Denmark's National Bank started designing a new Danish banknote series to replace the series from 1997. The first of these banknotes is expected to be issued in 2009 and the last in 2012. The new series depict bridges of Denmark.
