The Danish climate is in the world's temperate zone.

Surprisingly the winters are not particularly cold with average temperatures in January and February of just 0.0 °C (freezing point!). The summers are cool though with average temperatures in August just getting over 15°C.

Swimming in the sea even in the height of summer is not recommended!

As the mainland is almost flat, there is a lot of gusting wind, which is stronger during the winter and weaker during the summer. The islands are slightly windier!

Denmark averages around 170 rainy days per year, with the greatest rainfall in the autumn (September, October and November).

Because of Denmark's northern global location, the length of the day with sunlight varies greatly, with short days during the winter with sunrise coming around 0800 and sunset 1530, this is compensated with long summer days with sunrise at about 0330 and sunset at 2200.
